Jet2 and TUI are launching new abroad destinations holidays as people book more foreign breaks.

People hoping to get abroad this year are in luck as Jet2 have released extra Malta and Madeira routes to cope with Autumn rush to the sun, while TUI are expanding their 2022 programme.

There is growing demand to Malta and Madeira after they were both added to the green list – meaning no quarantine on return.

Both islands are quarantine-free, so Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added more flights to Madeira in September and October from Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds Bradford Airports.

The additional flights are as follows:

  • Birmingham – additional Friday services now departing throughout September and October, meaning two weekly services.
  • Manchester – additional Saturday services now departing throughout September and October, meaning three weekly services.
  • Leeds Bradford – introduction of a new Friday service throughout September and October meaning two weekly services.

For those who can’t get away this year, TUI is expanding their summer programme of destinations for next year, reports Hull Live.

The tour operator has reintroduced services from Birmingham Airport to Madeira, Portugal and increased flying to more than 11 different destinations.

At least three flights a week are scheduled for popular resorts Sharm El Sheikh, Costa Dorada, Florida, and Boa Vista in Cape Verde, while services to Palma de Mallorca will operate 10 times a week.

The number of flights to Izmir and Bodrum in Turkey, Costa Almeria and Sal, Cape Verde, will be increased to twice a week for summer 2022.

The largest programme from Birmingham will be Turkey, with five flights a week operating to Antalya, seven to Dalaman and two flights a week to Bodrum and Izmir.

For holidaymakers looking to travel long haul, there will be four options available to the Mexican resort of Cancun, Jamaica, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Orlando Melbourne International, the new Florida gateway for TUI.

Richard Sofer, Commercial & Business Development Director at TUI, said: “As the airline with the largest regional airport network in the UK, we’re committed to offering our customers as much availability as possible to our great range of holidays.

“We’re delighted to expand our summer 2022 programme from Birmingham with increased flying to several destinations and a reintroduced route, providing even more flight options for our customers.”

Tom Screen, aviation director at Birmingham Airport, added: “It is great news that TUI is expanding its list of holiday destinations for summer 2022. Whether it is a short hop to Europe, or a long-haul getaway, this extensive range of holiday options has something for all travellers looking to book for summer 2022.”
