12 day August and September UK heatwave with temperatures rising to 27C

The UK could be hit by a 12 DAY heatwave as the temperature rises to 27C, according to reports.

The scorching weather will see the mercury soar, with stifling conditions winning out nationwide.

Highs of 27C in the coming days could see the UK become hotter than European holiday hotspots like the Algarve in Portugal.

A plume of hot air will spread along the country from the continent, with Europe basking in a heatwave currently.

England could be as hot as 27C this Saturday, as the country breaks up for a three day weekend in the form of the late August Bank Holiday.

Meteorologists expect the weekend to be “one of the best spells of summer”, according to Brian Gaze from the Weather Outlook.

The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: “It’s a major change after wet weather. There should be a good deal of sunshine.”

John Hammond of weathertrending said: “It will be late summer at its best, with a sunnier finale to a dull August

“The mid-20s is possible by midweek, with the fine weather holding on for the bank holiday weekend and for a few more days into September for most.”

This week in Birmingham, forecasters at the Met Office predict: “Fine and dry weather with prolonged sunshine. Feeling warmest on Wednesday, turning cloudier on Thursday, but brightening up on Friday.”

“The last week in August and into September is likely to be dominated by high pressure resulting in fine and settled weather across the UK,” meteorologists at the Met Office agency add.
