Cooking up holiday fun

Developer Stockland is offering an exciting array of virtual activities and projects to help keep kids busy these school holidays.

Stockland Point Cook centre manager Frank Pizi said there was a wide variety of activities available for youngsters.

“We still want to inspire creativity and challenge kids to explore new learnings, despite spending more of their school holidays at home,” Mr Pizi said.

“These school holidays we’ve taken our campaign online, and are offering a great range of virtual fun activities to occupy kids – from live-streamed cooking classes with celebrity chef Miguel Maestre and his two children, to a four-part comic book sketching workshop, and DIY crafts.”

Mr Maestre, accompanied by his kids Claudia and Morgan, will show families how to cook delicious food in the comfort of their own kitchens in a series of videos.

The recipes will include fluffy cinnamon and vanilla sticky buns and woodfire margherita pizza.

The videos will be available both live and on demand, with the pizza clip scheduled for release on Friday, September 24.

An online four-part comic book workshop, led by professional comic book artist Marcelo Baez – who has worked with Marvel, Microsoft and National Geographic – will be held for seven to 12 year-olds to participate in.

The workshops will run between Thursday, September 28 and Friday, October 1, and cover topics such as character design and techniques.

Registration is mandatory for the comic book workshops, and can be booked from September 28 at: www.stockland.com.au/shopping-centres/centres/stockland-point-cook
