House in holiday hotspot on the market for just £50,000 – but comes with wheels

A house in a popular holiday hotspot is on the market for just £50,000 and boasts two bedrooms – but no fixed location.

The property currently located in Falmouth, Cornwall, is built on a trailer and can be attached to a car and driven around.

It has a wooden frame and metal exterior and on the inside, contains everything a regular home might, including two bedrooms, a fully-functioning bathroom, living room and kitchen.

Creator, Chris Metcalf, believes the “unique” property offers an “innovative” solution to the UK’s housing crisis and would make an ideal choice for guests or teenagers.

The home’s advert reads: “The Tiny House On Wheels is a locally made, unique and innovative housing solution.

“Built on top of a purpose-built steel chassis for ease of transporting to its forever home, the Tiny House is ideal for additional guest accommodation, a den for teenagers, or even a work from home study.

“Popular with buyers looking for an additional Air B & B type income, the Tiny House On Wheels can be parked on private land (subject to local planning consents) and mains Electrics and water hook up capability.

“The Tiny House has everything you need for comfortable day-to-day living, with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, a double bedroom, and a single bedroom.

“The Tiny House is both stylish and finished to a high specification and is to be sold complete with fixtures and fittings.”

The house even has the decor of a regular show home (

Mr Metcalf, an electrician, spent more than a year building the home – which is advertised on Rightmove.

He said: “I think it’s a really cool idea. There’s a shortage of properties in the South West at the moment.

“Families who might want extra accommodation, but don’t want to or can’t buy a bigger house or move home – this would be ideal.”
