Richard Madeley favourite to land permanent Good Morning Britain presenting job
Richard has been a stand-in presenter on the show since 2017 and has become a regular occurrence after former presenter Piers Morgan quit the morning show back in March.
Leading bookmaker Coral have made Richard’s odds of becoming a permanent fixture for the show 1-2, with Coral’s John Hill saying: “Richard Madeley is no stranger to morning television and our betting suggests he could be set to remain on GMB as a permanent presenter.
“When Piers Morgan left the show, Madeley was an outsider in our betting to replace the outspoken presenter. He is now the firm favourite.”

Richard’s time on the show has seen some hilarious candid moments from the star as he recently shared a holiday story that saw his wife Judy not speaking to him for days.
The open and honest presenting from Richard also saw him open up about the topic of bullying he received at a young age in school, where he even confessed he’s “still got a broken nose from one blow that I had when I was about 13…”.
At the start of this month, Coral had adjusted the chance of Piers returning from 6-4 to 1-2 after his Ofcom win following Meghan Markle’s complaint about his comments made live on air, following the Oprah Winfrey interview.
Coral’s John Hill said at the time: “After this latest ruling from Ofcom, we now make Piers Morgan odds-on to return to Good Morning Britain by the end of the year. Just a few months ago this looked extremely unlikely, however, ITV have yet to fill his position on a permanent basis so the door could be open for a sensational return.”
While some are hoping for a return from the former presenter, ITV have said they have “no plans” to bring him back in to the hosting seat.
Piers tweeted after the ruling: “I’m delighted OFCOM has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke & Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue. This is a resounding victory for free speech and a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchios.
“Do I get my job back?”
After the news broke, ITV reportedly told MailOnline that they “have no current plans to invite him to present Good Morning Britain”.
