Fully vaccinated travellers now only need take one test upon their arrival back to the UK – a ‘Day 2’ PCR test after landing.

However, now that the restrictions on global travel are easing, when should you book your next holiday?

The holiday experts at Expedia have teamed up with Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) to conduct a study to find out the cheapest time to book your next trip.

Figures estimate 20% of Brits are currently seeking saving tips and the study shows the ideal day to book a domestic flight is Sunday, not Friday, where travellers can save around 20%.

For anyone thinking of something more long distance, the travel experts say that you can save 15% by booking on a Sunday over a Friday.

Figures also estimate that 45% of holidaymakers are willing to be flexible with their travel plans in order to save money on their next trip.

Expedia say that the ideal month to depart on a domestic flight is November.

Travellers flying in this month can save up to 45% versus traveling in March.

The best time to depart for International travel is September, where holidaymakers can save almost 40%, versus traveling in December.

When it comes to accommodation, the lowest daily rate for domestic trips comes on a Friday.

For international trips, the cheapest daily rate is on a Wednesday. This offers a 5% saving on the most expensive day which is Saturday.
