Meet Ted the adorable Labrador and social media ‘influencer’

An adorable four-legged social media star from Leicestershire has bagged himself a new role – that of a holiday critic.

Ted the Labrador is already a familiar face to thousands on Instagram, delighting followers from far and wide with his travels and exploits alongside owners Annalie and Ross Armitage.

Now, the four-year-old is to embark on a new role after being labelled as a ‘superstar influencer’ by a holiday firm.

Ted has been with adventurous Annalie and Ross from Shepshed since he was a puppy and has become an important part of their lives ever since, joining the couple on fun-filled activities over the past four years.

One of a litter of pups, it wasn’t Annalie or Ross who chose Ted – it was the pup who made the first move.

He was the only puppy sitting down and not jumping up, and his paw kept creeping onto my leg. His big eyes gazed up at us and he had to be the one,” revealed Annalie.

“We’ve never looked back, it’s truly been one of the best decisions we’ve made.”

Annalie and Ross have always been active, with the pair taking on the thrill of surfing, paddle boarding, biking and hiking whenever they can.

When Ted joined them on their adventures, the @annalieandted Instagram page was born, documenting the family’s travels around the UK, taking in their favourite past-times with a perfectly posed pooch in all of the pictures.

So far, their posts have garnered more than 80,000 followers.

However, not everything is as picture perfect as Instagram would portray according to Annalie.

“We had a funny moment in Cornwall. We were all on the paddle board. Ted moved around and we all fell off in front of a load of onlookers!”

Ted’s adventures have seen him gain a legion of followers

“The funniest part? It was all recorded on our Go Pro which made for very good viewing when we got home.”

Now, Ted’s adventures have stepped up another level after being chosen as one of 15 new canine critics for holiday firm Canine Cottages.

More than 50,000 dogs applied to be part of the firm’s recruitment campaign, with Ted chosen as one of the lucky few with the help of his pup personality.

It means he – and Annalie and Ross – will now be responsible for testing out and reviewing the facilities in some of Canine Cottages’ holiday properties.

“I guess we would always like to travel more and get around as much of the UK as we can with Ted,” said Annalie.

“Scotland would be awesome, but we’re always drawn back to Cornwall because of its calming nature.”

“We’ve met some of the most interesting people on our travels and made lots of friends on our wonderful Instagram journey, and would love for this to continue.”
