Paw-fect holiday fun at Cowra Library

One Library One Book – Kids is back this summer with the heartwarming read – Pawcasso by Remy Lai – that everyone will be talking about.

A delightful graphic novel about friendship and belonging, starring the world’s most adorable dog, Pawcasso is a heartwarming and hilarious story between the loneliest girl in class and the coolest canine in town.

Author and illustrator of the critically acclaimed Pie in the Sky and Fly on the Wall, Ms Lai writes and draws for kids and has a degree in fine arts.

Born in Indonesia, growing up in Singapore and currently living in Brisbane she can often be found exploring the woods with her two dogs – Poop Roller and Bossy Boots.

Those who have read her books will have a chance to meet her and learn about how she writes her books, where she gets ideas from, how she tells stories visually with illustrations and graphics, with Ms Lai appearing on the big screen at the Cowra Library on Friday, January 14 at 11am.

Ms Lai will be talking about her creative process, answering your questions, and showing you how to do some quick pet sketches.

Those wanting to take part book their place online via the events page on the library’s website, via and selecting the Cowra branch from the ticket options or by calling 6340 2180.

Following Ms Lai’s appearance the library will be holding aToonworld Graphic Novel Workshop.

Inspired by the One Library, One Book – Kids title, Pawcasso, the library is offering Cowra kids this opportunity to tell one of their stories using images and words in a graphic novel style.

Animation and cartooning legends, Toonworld, will be running this special drawing event helping kids create their own graphics and discover the magic of visual storytelling.
