TUI, Easyjet and Virgin Holidays launch huge holiday discounts to mark change in travel restrictions

Travel agents are seeing a flurry of New Year bookings from holidaymakers desperate for some winter sun who want to take advantage of the government’s change in rules for returning travellers.

Restrictions on travel were lifted this week, meaning that fully vaccinated travellers returning to the UK no longer need to take a covid PCR test before flying home or self-isolate when they return to the UK.

Travel firm TUI is one of a host of travel agents who have celebrated this news by launching last minute deals which can see families save hundreds on holiday deals if they travel now – the biggest discount we’ve seen is 55% off for holidays departing at the end of January.

Any holiday booking of more than £750 for travel before March 31 gets an additional £100 discount using the special discount code WINTER.

If you want to get away this weekend then a seven night all inclusive deal to Fuerteventura comes to £226 per person with this voucher code.

The deal, for two adults and one child, is for the 4* TUI Magic Life hotel and includes flight out of Gatwick this weekend.

It is fully inclusive of breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks and includes 20kg checked luggage and 10kg hand luggage per person too.

Heavily discounted TUI holidays are available flying from a range of different regional airports, including Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool as well as London airports.

But if you can’t head to sunnier climes immediately, all is not lost. TUI is also offering discounts on bookings for departures between May 1 and October 31.

As well as discounts of up to 30% on individual holidays – for example the Holiday Village resort in Dalaman, Turkey has been reduced by £254 to £588 per person for a week all inclusive in May, bargain hunters can use a discount code to get even more money off.

Use the code ‘SALE’ when booking to save £100 when you spent £800, £200 when you spend £2,000 and £300 when you spend £3,500.

You can also save an extra £10 if you book through the TUI app.

All bookings made by January 31 are also eligible for fee-free changes up to 14-days before their departure date, so if you are concerned about changes in restrictions you can always amend your booking.

Other holiday companies that have launched sales to celebrate the change in rules include OntheBeach.co.uk, EasyJet Holidays and Virgin Holidays.

OntheBeach is offering a week’s all-inclusive stay at the 5-star Turkish resort of Limak Limra in Antalya. With all new four and five star bookings the company also offers the chance for travellers to enjoy a bit of celebrity style – getting free access to airport lounges and free fast-track security, the first UK travel operator to offer both these things.

EasyJet Holidays is currently discounting breaks to a wide range of destinations.

They’ve also got a discount code active, BIGSALE, which gives travellers an additional £100 off holidays over £700, £150 off holidays over £1,500 and £300 off holidays over £3,000.

Virgin Holidays has launched savings on holidays to the Caribbean, USA and more.
