Heinz changes names of two of its most popular sauces

Two of the nation’s most popular condiments will be getting a name change for the coming weeks.

Heinz has announced that its brown sauce and salad cream will be renamed temporarily. It comes as the brand hopes to keep in theme with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

With the new labels hitting shelves across the supermarkets earlier this month, brown sauce is temporarily being named ‘HM Sauce’ and salad cream is now ‘Salad Queen’. The Queen’s jubilee celebrations are set to get underway on Thursday June 2. A range of events are planned to mark the special occasion across the four-day weekend.

The news comes ahead of the four-day weekend that is planned for the start of June. The long weekend will see many people across the country take part in street parties and other celebrations to mark the historic occasion.

Heinz senior brand manager Anke von Hanstein said: “This is an extraordinary moment for the Queen and the great British public, and we want to celebrate this with two of our most well-loved and historic sauces.

“Releasing limited-edition bottles in time for the Jubilee felt like the perfect fit. We hope our customers enjoy these celebratory designs and that they add a squeeze of fun to the Jubilee celebrations, however one is celebrating.”
